TOON AND CHARLOTTE

Creativity in Primary Education is a way of looking express feeling individuality and in a secondary plane, the technique. In this class we had the pleasure of meeting these two artists. The class was very interesting because we did a lot of things with arts and we met others artist throught Philip´s colleges.

American Artist: MARK DIONHe collect all thing that he found. To collect is something that you do in your life. In the university of Gent there are a lot collections.

Belgian Artist: DOMINIQUE GOBLET He is very familiar, moreover he has a book collect all pictures of his family. The relationship with the family is really good, also with parents. He use diferent techniques in his drawings:

- portrait based on a photo.
- expensive colours.
- diferent inputs.

There are a lot of ways to do a portrait of one person. But, I think the portrait of themselves is very hard.

French Ilustrator: LAUREN MOREAU. TASK FOUR. PORTRAIT.

5th CLASS: Museum in Gent - PSYCHIATRY

In September 1986 opened in Ghent under great care Dr. Guislain Museum. This was a "new" initiative in many senses of the word. The site, the subject - the history of psychiatry - the focus ... made many people curious.

Nobody at that time could suggest how to develop this "museum on the history of psychiatry. Now, fifteen years later, we look back on an eventful history and constructive.

The photographer Jimmy Kets photos show the beauty queens behind the scenes and on stage. In his photos is no honesty without ostentation or glamor, he's always very respectful, and has won many beauty pageants.

The photographs are complemented by the impressions of himself, who attended the careers of the first row. A book of this appears in Davidsfonds. Jimmy Kets studied at the Saint Luke in Antwerp and then went to work as a photographer. Since 2009 works for the standard. Kets received several awards for his work, including the Nikon Promising Young Photographer Award 2006.

I love take photos to curious things like I can see in this museum of Gent. I love picture and in this class I enjoy a lot with the topic.

One of the most beautiful thing in this museum is to see the work of the children who live in this building. Teacher´s job is fascinable, I like seeing how children with disabilities can work like they are one more in a normal school. Also, I think pupils are happy working with ART.

ACTIVITIES DEVELOPMENT IN THE CLASS

1. Explain picture to the rest of the class.

WHY IS GOOD? It´s a good work to do with children because they can allow their imagination to fly with art.

2. Draw the beginning of the story.

WHY IS GOOD? It´s good for children because they have to empathize with the thought of the author.

3. Dramatice a picture of another person.

WHY IS GOOD? It´s good to children to feel in the same situations of the people in the pictures.

- WHAT I HAVE LEARNED IN THIS CLASS?
I have learned to see an item socio-cultural and ideological inside this museum. Precisely the latter aspects have changed my opinion of this mental illness. The way in psychiatry as part of Western medicine, along with the rest of society, the human approach, influences very strong in my social initiatives.
Knowledge of the history of the museum and its exhibitions has made me delve into his humanity in general and enrich my attitude towards this.

As a conclusion of this class I would like to show you a image where they symbolize the slogan of people who live in this place.

To end the class... THE SCHOOL OF OUR DREAMS!!

4th CLASS: Films/Stories and Drama

A dog of Flanders is a novel of 1872 by english author Maria Luise de la Ramée published with the pseudonym "Ouida". The story is about a dog called Nello and the boy Patrasche. This story has a english origin but is widely read in Japan, and has been adapted into several films and anime.

The story is about a poor young called Nello and his grandfather live alone, delivering milk as a livelihood, in the outskirts of Antwerp. Thay discover a beaten dog and adopt it and nurse it back to health, naming it Patrache. Patrasche is the middle name of Nello´s mother Mary, who died when Nello was very young. Nello´s mother was a talented artist and, like his mother, he delights in drawing, and his friend Aloise is his model and greatest fan and supporter.

SIMILAR STORY IN SPAIN: HEIDI

Heidi is a Swiss work of fiction very popular in Spain, originally published in two parts as Heidi´s years of learning and travel and Heidi makes use of what she has learned. It´s a novel about the events in the life of a young girl in the grandfather´s care, in the Swiss Alps. It was written as a book in 1880 by Swiss author Johanna Spyri.

Heidi is one of the best-selling books ever written and is among the best-know works in Spain literature and television.

The story is about a girl Adelheid "Heidi" who has been reised by her aunt Dete in Maienfeld, after the early deaths of her parents. Dete brings 5 year old Heidi to her grandfather, who has been at odds with the villagers for years and lives in seclusion on the alm. Heidi subsequently has a delightful stay with him and her best friend, young Peter the goat-herd. Dete returns three years later to bring Heidi to Frankfurt am Main as a companion of a 12 years old girl called Claea, who is regarded as an invalid. Heidi spends a year with Clara, conflicting with the Sesemanns´ strict housekeeper. Her one diversion is learning to read and write. But, Clara´s doctor send Heidi home to her grandfather. Heidi and Clara continue to contact each other. A visit by the doctor to heidi and her grandfather convinces him to recommend Clara to visit Heidi. So, Clara makes the journey with Heidi. Peter feeling deprived of Heidi´s attention, so he pushes Clara´s wheelchair down the montain to its destruction. Without her wheelchair, Clara attempts to walk and is gradually successful. Clara´s grandmother and father are amazed and overcome with joy to see Clara walking. Clara´s wealthy family promises to provide a shelter for Heidi, in case her grandfather will no longer be able to do so.

DRAMA

The class totally radical turned around and we went into the yard to make a series of very interesting drama games to teach and do with elementary/primary school children.

For me, dramatic plays are games that combines two basic communication systems: the language and body language. A dramatic play area is good for helping individuals to social development because it encourages social cooperation. Dramatic play also promotes experience live and in real materials.

Its main objectives are:
- Run the playful expression.
- Develop the power of imitation.
- Experiencing the basic possibilities of the game itself (movement, sound, noise, gesture)
- Enhance the personal domain.
- Develop memory.
Finally, dramatic play also builds cultural competence.

DRAMA GAMES IN SPAIN

In this video we can see the most important Spanish plays with children.

Spain, a place where play is to create, where imagination is reality ... where we live together and compete between us. Socio Research Center University of Castilla said: "The games reduce obesity and increase self-esteem." The investigation lasted two years and involved more than 1,000 European children and it´s completly TRUE!

In 2006 the U.S. academy of pediatrics said the games increase independence and promote creativity. Group games make children gradually integrate into the society in which they live. Also, at the same time, improve the physical and cultural conditions adopted in each place. This is really good for children, I hope that like a future teacher can use this kind of plays with my pupils to develop every things that children have inside of them.

3rd CLASS: Audacity & Screencast in schools

Audacity is a free cross-platform software application, which can be used for recording and editing audio, easy to use, distributed under the GPL. It is the most widespread audio editor in GNU / Linux.

And, about the program screencast is a digital recording of computer screen output, also know as a video screen capture, often containing audio narration. The term screencast compares with the related term screenshot; whereas screenshot is a picture of a computer screen, a screencast is essentially a movie of the changes over time that a user sees on a computer screen, enhanced with audio narration.

OUR WORK
The coloured hen by Nazaret and Andrea

Once upon a time there was a hen. But not a normal hen. It has a lot of coloured feathers. It was the most beautiful hen in all the farm.

The others animals admired it. All of them wanted to play with the coloured hen, but it was refused the proposal.

One day, the dog Tim said:

          - Can you give me one of your feathers?
          - No, no way, it is only mine

Since this moment, all animals, did not want to play with it. For these reason, the coloured hen was sad, very sad. It was the solitary animal in the farm.

It decided to talk with the clever bird:

          - Hello, I am very sad because the others don’t want to play with me.
          - Maybe, you can share your beautiful feathers with others.

So the following day the hen went with the rest of the animals and it gave them its feathers. It only stayed with  one beautiful feather but it was the most happy animal in this farm!

THE END

To finish the reflexion of this day in class, I would like to share this video created by students at Robin Hood primary School in Birmingham.

In this video we can apreciate that teachers need to engage students and learn the tecnology. Every teacher should learn how to use basic digital audio recording software. I will share why I believe this is a skill that all teachers should learn. Audacity is one of the recording software very easy to use. The reason I´m advoating that all teachers should learn Audacity and not another digital recording is because it can be use with Mac and PC computers. Also, because it´s free and more universal than other programs.

Time to reflexion

Sometimes we go so fast that we do not have time to stop and enjoy what we are experiencing. Once a month I need to clear my head and enjoy all that I have in my life. For this reason I went to Oostende... LOOK TO THE SKY AND THINK...

I realize the opportunity that I have here in Belgium, I am totally free, totally free to do right things...

I only want ENJOY...

ENJOY...

When my trip finished I was with positive energy to continue my life and my erasmus enjoy all things that happen here and only to remember the things which I learn a lot.

For this reason, now, I feel that I CAN eat all the world!!
